CitySide Stingers Social Nights

Since 2018, I’ve be a passionate player of, the very niche, indoor rebound beach volleyball. I’ve called CitySide Sports Brunswick my home ground since, and have become ingrained in the community. More recently, I joined the Victorian Premier League team, CitySide Stingers, and took on the voluntary role of Social & Event Manager in our club’s committee. I’ve been in charge of raising our club’s profile and raising funds through social nights.

Social nights involve four hours of beach volleyball with drinks, food and a whole lot of cool people. I’ve absolutely loved bringing people together and having the creative freedom to make it a great experience. This year, I have hosted 5 of these events with a range of themes. We encourage dress ups and award prizes for first, second and third place, and best dressed.

For each event, I created a bespoke theme, look and feel, and language. With each event, I’ve aimed to improve the communication, marketing and promotion, switching from Trybooking to Eventbrite and running ads through Meta, as well as encouraging our club to spread the word.
